[ Last Rewrite: Aug 2023 – ELRS Update! ]

If you’re reading this, you probably saw a cool FPV video not too long ago and thought to yourself: I want that too! Now you want to know what you need to get started (like a complete FPV beginner package, just the best beginner FPV drone) and get started right away.

Then congratulations, you have found the right place. =)

The Ionocraft: The world’s smallest drone – 2×2 cm and EHD engines

The Ioncraft

The “Ioncraft”, a mini-drone developed in California, weighs only 30 milligrams and measures just 2×2 cm. Unlike other mini-drones, it does not fly with the help of electric motors and rotors, but with the power of ions. Due to the built-in electrohydrodynamic engines, the “Ioncraft” accelerates by the collision of ions with neutral molecules, which are ionized and accelerated by the engines in an electric field. The world’s smallest drone can be controlled similarly to other quadrocopters, but the energy supply and data communication are not yet very mature.

EHD- Engine

The installed EHD engines are to be used in the future not only in drones but also in larger flying objects. They are highly important for research, as they can be used, for example, in space research, but also in agriculture, rescue operations and environmental research.

8 Steps to the FPV Pilot – The Book to Learn to Fly FPV Drones

Controlling an FPV drone is much more difficult than, for example, a DJI Phantom or DJI Mavic Pro. Finally, it is about racing equipment, which should move at the absolute limit. Information and strategies about the FPV fly and how to learn the fastest how to find a drone in the book “In 8 steps to the FPV pilot”. The book is a “how-to” for beginners and advanced.

TS100 Soldering Iron – The ultimate soldering iron for FPV (and at all!)

The TS100 – the soldering iron for all cases

In the FPV scene, you can argue super: Everyone has their subjective views, why one propeller is better than the other … and the frame flies better than this. But the TS100 is different: Here, everyone seems united: the TS100 is the best FPV soldering iron! A consensus rarely experienced otherwise.

New Maps for FPV Freerider Recharged

FPV Freerider Recharged Custom Maps Pack Logo

FPV Freerider is a simulator for FPV quads . With this simulator, you can practice flying very well with your spark on the computer without constantly crashing your drone. You can even use your own spark.

FPV Freerider is very simple and not necessarily the most realistic simulator in the field of aerospace physics – but it is not very demanding in terms of hardware (it even works on a mobile phone!) And unbeatably cheap ($ 5).

When successor  FPV Freerider Recharged was neatly turned on the graphics screw – but then also requires a correspondingly powerful system.

FPV AIO Cams – All-In-One Cameras for FPV Drones (and Spies)

What is an FPV, AIO Cam?

An FPV AIO Cam is a small component that combines a camera, a video transmitter (VTx) and an antenna. This component only needs a power source and you can already receive the signal with FPV goggles .

Such a tiny camera can then be glued to all sorts of things and see the world from their perspective. If you can now control the whole thing (like race models or threats) you have a real “first-person perspective” experience.
